Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) Exam Preparation Course- Module 1, 2 and 3

    The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is an internationally recognised test from Cambridge ESOL about teaching English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teachers’ confidence and enhance job prospects by focusing on core teaching knowledge related to language, language use and the background to and practice of language teaching and learning.

This 60-hour course runs over ten weeks covering three modules:

1. Language and Language Teaching

2. Lesson Planning and use of resources for language teaching

3. Managing the teaching and learning process

 

TKT Specialist Module - Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) Course

TKT: CLIL is a specialist module of the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) that focuses on content teaching in a second or other language. This course consists of two parts.

Part 1: Knowledge of CLIL and principles of CLIL

Part 2: Lesson Preparation, Lesson Delivery and Assessment

 

TKT Specialist Module - Young Learners (YL) Module Course

    TKT: YL is a specialist module of the Cambridge English Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) that focuses on teaching young learners aged 6-12. This course has four parts;

Part 1: Knowledge of young learners aged 6-12.

Part 2: Planning and preparing young learner lessons,

Part 3: Teaching young learners, and

Part 4: Assessing young learner learning through classroom based assessment.

 

Certificate in Primary English Language Teaching (CiPELT)

    CiPELT is an in-service course aimed at primary teachers. This course is based on the practical application of methodology for the classroom and aims to combine theory with good practice. It is especially for teachers who need to update their methodological skills. It consists of three modules each covering the teaching of one primary age group (6-7, 8-9, and 10-11 years).

 

Certificate in Secondary English Language Teaching (CiSELT)

    The Certificate in Secondary English Language Teaching (CiSELT) is an in-service course for secondary teachers to enhance methodological skills, communicative, reflective and learner-centred teaching skills, classroom based research skills.

CiSELT is divided into two levels: CiSELT Proficient and CiSELT Advanced.

CiSELT Proficient is for teachers with approximately two years’ experience and mainly compulsory focusing on key skills, language and methodology. CiSELT Advanced is based on optional modules and workshops with more specialized and creative teaching methodology. Each course will take a minimum of 48 hours of training materials plus assignments with face-to-face delivery model.

 

Certificate in Teaching English for the Subject Classroom (TESC)

    The Teaching English for the Subject Classroom training course supports content teachers to communicate effectively and use English confidently as the language of instruction.

This course is for teachers who teach mathematics, science, IT and geography through the medium of English and work with older primary or secondary learners. The course consists of ten face-to-face workshops. Each workshop is two and a half hours long.

 

Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA)

    CELTA is an introductory course for candidates who have little or no previous English language teaching experience or for those with some experience, but with little/no practical teacher training.  Well-established and recognised internationally, internally assessed and externally moderated, it is intensive and very practical. This 120-hour course can be done full time over 4 weeks or part time over 10 weeks.  

Successful candidates will:

  • gain knowledge and skills in ELT (English Language Teaching) based on international best practice
  • be equipped to seek employment in ELT
  • receive a certificate from Cambridge ESOL
  • receive a detailed report from British Council Burma.

 

The fees remain unchanged either as we charge 360,000 MMK for 60 hour courses such as TKT, CiPELT, and CiSELT, 180,000 MMK for 30 hour courses (e.g. TKT YL, CLIL, and TESC) while CELTA 120 hour course is charged 2500000 MMK per head.
