Early Years Foundation Stage

Pride ISM Early Years aims to create a secure, caring, friendly and happy environment where each child feels good about themselves, others and school. We know that the early years are so important to getting the right start in life and gains made in these formative years really do make a noticeable difference as children progress!

We learn best from many and varied fun experiences, so our daily schedule includes a balance of large and small group work, active and quiet time, child-directed and teacher led activities, art and crafts, indoor and outdoor time.

We are excited to have transitioned to a thematic based approach where children learn about the links between life and learning. This has meant the use of new resources and activities designed to equal the world’s best.

We also focus on social-emotional skills for Early Learning to help identify and manage our feelings as we navigate through friendships, and at least once a day our young ones gather as a group to sing and enjoy circle time together.

Early Years is not child-minding but about the development of key learning skills such as listening, speaking, concentration, persistence and learning to work and cooperate with other children. It is also about developing early communication, literacy and numeracy skills that we will all need in daily life. Do pop in to see us to find out more about how we can help give your child the right foundation for school and beyond.
